A roll number slip contains your roll number, full name, father name, class, exam year, examination center address, and board name. The roll number is always prominently displayed at the top.
This is the fastest and most reliable method. Your school is required to keep a record of all roll numbers assigned to every student. The school office receives the roll number slips from the board and is responsible for distributing them. Even if you lost your slip, the school still has the original data.
Who to contact:Go directly to your school's administration office or examination department. Ask for the head clerk (muharir), the examination coordinator, or the principal. These are the people most likely to have immediate access to the roll number register.
What to say: Explain that you have lost your roll number slip and need your roll number for the upcoming examination (or to check your result). Give your full name, class, and section. If you remember your examination form number, mention that too.

Typical response time: If you visit in person during school hours, the school can usually provide your roll number on the same day, often within minutes. If you call or send a WhatsApp message through a teacher or school group, expect a response within a few hours.
Best practice: Take a photo of your roll number slip as soon as you receive it and save it in your phone's gallery with a note saying "Exam Roll Number 9th/10th 2026." This prevents the problem from ever happening again.
Your roll number slip (also called admit card or hall ticket) is a physical document you received from your school. Before assuming it is lost, do a thorough search. Students often find their admit card in places they did not expect.

The photo tip:Even if you cannot find the physical slip, you may have photographed it already. Go to biselahore.com and look for the Student Portal or Roll Number Slip section under the Examination tab. Enter your registration number and date of birth to retrieve your roll number.
Visit bisemultan.edu.pk and navigate to the Admission or Roll Number section. Enter your name or registration number to find your assigned roll number.
Go to bisefsd.edu.pk and check under the Examination Services section. Some boards require your school code and name to search, so have that information ready.
Visit bsek.edu.pk and look for the Student Information or Result section. BSEK usually allows roll number lookup by student name or registration number.
Search Google for your board's name followed by "roll number slip 9th class 2026" or "student portal." Most Punjab boards have a similar portal structure. Alternatively, call the board helpline for direct assistance.
Keep in mind that board websites can be slow around examination season due to heavy traffic. Try early in the morning or late at night for faster access.

SMS result services require you to already know your roll number. If your roll number is completely unknown to you, the SMS method alone cannot recover it. Use this method in combination with your school or board office to confirm a roll number you partially remember.

What to say when you call:Introduce yourself, state that you are a 9th/10th class student who has lost your roll number slip, and give the operator your full name, father's name, school name, and registration number if you have it. They will ask you a few verification questions and then provide your roll number or direct you to the appropriate department.
Documents to have ready:Your B-Form or CNIC number, father's CNIC number, school name and address, and your examination form number if known.
Tip: Calls to BISE boards are often busy in the weeks immediately before and after examinations. Try calling early in the morning, right when the office opens. If you cannot get through, try the board website or visit in person.
If none of the above methods have worked for you, or if you need an official duplicate roll number slip issued on paper, visiting the BISE board office is your most definitive option. It takes more time and effort, but it virtually guarantees success.
When to use this method: Use this if you need a physical copy of the roll number slip, if you are also requesting a duplicate certificate or other official document, or if you have been unable to reach the school or board via phone or online portal.
Documents to bring:
The procedure at the board office: Go to the Information Desk or Student Services counter. Explain your situation and ask to fill out a duplicate roll number slip request form. Submit the form with the required documents. Pay any small fee if applicable (usually between Rs. 50 and Rs. 200 depending on the board). Most boards issue the duplicate slip on the same day, though some may ask you to return the next working day.
Plan ahead: Board offices can be crowded. Bring water and snacks if there is likely to be a wait. Arrive as early in the morning as possible so you have time to resolve any issues before the office closes in the afternoon.
Take a deep breath. This is a stressful situation but it is not hopeless. Here is exactly what you need to do right now, in order of priority.
Call your school principal or class teacher immediately
Even if it is evening or the school is closed, try your teacher's personal number if you have it. Explain the urgency. Most teachers will help you find your roll number from the school register, even outside school hours, if they understand the situation.
Call the BISE board helpline right now
Board offices often have extended hours or emergency duty around examination season. Try the helpline number for your board (listed in Method 5 above). Explain that your exam is tomorrow. They may be able to look up and confirm your roll number over the phone.
Contact a classmate who might have their slip
Ask a classmate from your school and class to send you a photo of the class roll number sheet if they have one, or to check what number appears next to yours on the sheet. School roll number lists are often kept in class registers.
Prepare for exam day without the slip
Gather every document you have: school ID, B-Form, CNIC, and a letter from your school (even a WhatsApp message from a teacher works as informal support). Arrive at the exam center at least one hour early.
Speak to the exam center superintendent immediately on arrival
Explain the situation to the exam center superintendent. Show your identity documents and any school communication you have. Most centers have an emergency register and procedure for students in this situation. The superintendent has authority to allow you to sit with identity verification while contacting the board for your roll number.
Important: Never skip your exam because you do not have your roll number slip. Always attempt to attend. The board has procedures for these situations and a willing student who shows up with identity documents is usually accommodated, especially in government-run exam centers.
